Default OMG !!!!! BOSE Lifestyle 5 CD problem

OK, you can shoot me later.
It's a Bose thread.

Does anyone have the service manual for the BOSE Lifestyle 5 Head unit ?

Alternatively, anyone know which cdm is used ?

Smile Bose Lifestyle 5

Poynton, looks like no one wants to bother with comments!
What is a cdm?
I am working on one of these (Lifestyle 5) right now, for my janitor from work. Preamp/control unit dead, speakers probably OK. The 5V regulator failed in this head unit, and I presume it toasted all the LSI chips, since it was putting out 10V.
I am trying to decide how to power up the speakers without the head unit. The speakers are in the Phillipines right now, and I am in Alaska wortking on the head. I presume putting 12V on the System Control lead (center +, sleeve=gnd) should work, but I can't really test it before I send him off home again. He has a Pioneer receiver he would like to feed the line out from, to his Acoustimass speakers.
Anyone care to comment on this theory?
