Marantz CD-80 Screening
A fabulous player (I have 2, just in case) once the crusty old op-amps have been replaced and much nicer than my CD-94 in both sound and build quality.
Also, and I don't know if this has been mentioned but a very easy and surprisingly effective mod even for the non-technical is to apply copper screening (tape or thin sheet) to the DAC, digital filter and whatever else you fancy and connect each piece to a convenient earth point on the PCB. The improvement far exceeds the cost and effort. If anyone is able to supply a copy of the schematic (analogue and digital) it would be greatly appreciated. |
