Default How to build. a

Does any one have any information how to build a Eq display like the one on this yamaha eq. all i want_is audio Graph. that displays the audio Frequencies. Something like a Large bar Graph. I dont want the controls just the display.

I don't know if this will help, since you obviously know how you want to do the actual equaliser part, but if you use a TAS3103 digital audio processor from TI it already has a spectral analysis output in I2C format. It's the chip I'd use for an equaliser, because it has some very nifty features.

The magazine Elektor had this project (many years ago, 80's?) with LED's and many bandpass filters but nowadays I gather that you take a ADC and make this in software...but this is hardly something for a newbie I suppose.

I think your looking for a real time audio analyzer (RTA) project.

These guys make a myriad of devices in all kinds of price ranges. I'm posting the link to give you some more background for your project.


Was it Rod Elliot who recently posted a notice to start collecting LEDs for an upcoming RTA project? I know Ive seen this notice a number of times, but cant remember where.
