I have the opportunity to purchase a Marantz CD84 at a good price. I have read that CD80 and CD94 have good transport mechanisms and DAC chips and are worth modding. Is the CD84 a good candidate for modding?

Jean Paul, Thank you. Can you tell me anything about it- Where does it sit in terms of age and quality with CD80 and 94, and what type of transport does it have. Regards - hifileslie

I was given a CD84 a couple of years ago not working but got it fixed for a reasonable price. Yesterday i picked another one up at my local recycling centre for the princely sum of £2. This is in perfect working order. What I would dearly like is a copy of the user manual or at least some help in defining the use of some of the controls.
Thank you. |
