Question digital sources philips cd160

I may be looking for the proverbial needle in the haystack here, does anyone have a scematic or a service manual for a philips CD160, or alternatively has anyone made the DAC section a stand alone unit and partnered it with a CDM4/19

The service manual is here ....

Philips cd-160 service manual PDF (German)*-*5 euro - dutchaudioclassics.nl

It's in German but the schematics are universal. Only 5euros

Do you mean you want to change the cdm-2 to a cdm-4 ?

Andy

Hi Andy.
Thanks for that, and yes ultimately I would like to use the TDA1541 DAC with the Philips CDM4/19, mixing and matching whichever way round that is going to be the least painful, if it means taking the DAC board out of the 160 and making power supplies , then so be it.

The cdm2 has a sub-board with the control electronics on it whereas the cdm4 does not. The control electronics are usually on the mainboard.

You would have to use the board from the cdm2 and adapt it to the cdm4.
