Plesase recommend a cdp with lots of space inside.

I am thinking of rebuilding my music center into a new case in order to accomodate some extra features. See original: DIYPARADISE CD63 based "music centre" - diyAudio

I am looking for a cd player that I can canibalise and use as a transport. I will be re-clocking with a Tent XO3 direct to a DAC, so I am not concearned about the cdp's output stage.

The main criterior is to have a decent quality mechanism and a small PCB (to save space).

Are there any players out there with famously "empty" cases?

I would go with the CD-PRO2M but I want a drawer mechanism.

Suggestions please.

Kenwood DP 4090 / 5090 ?

They have loads of space.

Some candidates so far:

Marantz cd4000

Canbridge Audio D500

Does anyone have any opinion on these (as transports)?

More suggestions please.

Both of those are supposed to be good transports.

The Cambridge uses a Sony Mech KSS213 IIRC. (the same as the Azur series 340/540/640)

I have a D500 SE for sale if you're interested, PM me.

It needs a laser and the DAC chip is U/S.
