Help for Marantz CD72 and CD52's I2S

They both uses Philips SAA7350, can someone tell me whether the I2S inside is oversampled (2Fs or 4Fs) or non-oversampled (Fs)?

I have the schematic but don't know where to look to tell you if it's 2Fs or 4Fs or NON-oversampled.

What is the SAA7350 connected to? What dacs do the 2 players use?

Hi DIY'ers,

The CD-72SE uses no other DAC than the SAA7350 thats the only one uses in this CD-Player.
The CD-72 MKII uses the SAA7350 conected to a TDA 1547 (DAC7).

Thats the only thing I can tell!

P.S. te Analogue output of the SAA7350 is 34-35-36-37-38. for right & 19-20-21-22-23. for left. IOW BAL. output.

I wish I had a scanner

The SAA7350 is a dac itself but is often used in conjunction with the TDA1547 where it functions as a bitstream converter. It can also be used with an external digital filter. To find raw I2S data you may have to look further back. The table below shows the different input formats the SAA7350 will accept. The IDF pins determine the format and they are

IDF3 pin3, IDF2 pin4 & IDF1 pin5

Hi,

The CD72SE uses a PCF3523 DIGITAL Output a SM5840FP DIGITAL FILTER and before the two a SAA7310/HS DECODER.
