I have used CS8420's in the past, always with the recommended software mode workaround implemented. I have never had any problems but would like to know which part of the chip has the bugs. Is it only when using the SRC that problems occur, or is the receiver at fault?
The reason I ask is that I am using the receiver and transmitter in a CS8420 without using the SRC (I can get the 8420 much cheaper than an 8427) and want to know if I still need to cycle the run bit after loss of lock. |
