Well this CD player is about 8 years old now. The problem is with the CD drawer. Everytime I load/eject the CD, the drawer makes a loud funny sound (mechanical). Can somebody recommend what kind of lubricant to be used to get rid of the noise. Could there be any other problem like woren out plastic/rubber part???? Iam not really familiar with the mechanism and look forward for some help.
thanks, Dinesh |

Eject the tray and turn off the power. Turn the machine upside down and see if the teeth on the underside of the tray are damaged. You could apply some silicone grease on these if they look fine. You can push the tray back by hand. If it is the grease then it might take a few open/close routines to clear up the problem.
If this fails you will have to open the machine and trouble shoot. Are you a handyman ? Cheers.

with the Philips CDM9 transport on my Arcam. The teeth on the tray drivewheel were gone.
See this thread: Broken CDM9 Transport Hope this helps. I repaired mine few a few GBP and a couple of hours - I have no expertise in this field whatsoever!! Good Luck! Jon |
