I missed this one.
The motor of the volume control is driven by LB1639 (IIRC) and the two control logic inputs at pin 1 and 4 are driven by the microcontroller annotated as IC301 on the front board. Gajanan Phadte |

Hi all,
I also have a MHC-1600 that I used for years in the 90s and as late as 2010 and then packed it into storage. I just tried hooking it up again but there is no sign of power whatsoever. Does anyone know what I can do? Is there a simple fuse I can change? |

If the fuse is blown.
Open the back cover and the top cover. IIRC, there is a fuse on the pcb on which the power connector is fitted. KEEP THE MAINS CHORD DISCONNECTED ALL THE TIME WHEN THE STEREO IS OPEN. Gajanan Phadte |

Thanks, gmphadte,
It does not seem to be a blown fuse. Is there anything else I can try. Visually nothing looks broken or burned out. Thanks for your help. |

Now u have to check the power supply and the fuses on the secondary side. The voltages r normally written on the pcb.
I think u better start with soldering the cracked and dry solder points. Gajanan Phadte |
