hi
i cant speak for your country but the dealings ive had with sony uk repairs have been a nightmare. try to have ago yourself, the worse that can happen if you get it wrong is that you will have to put it in for repair,on the other had you may surprise yourself and do yourself proud! all the best and good luck smithie |

Hi,
I had the same but then with normal CD-s and after a few months also SACD. Changed the laser-mechanic-unit and the problem was solved. There are servicemanuals on the internet so it is easy to work that out. Look on ebay for the unit. |

If your 555 is very little used, this low usage may cause some problems of TOC Reading. My SCD-1 is used once a month or less, and have this problems IF I do not made a long break in of 4 or 6 hours before each listening session. Hope this help,

I was all set to email you about where you got the unit for 20 USD. But since it didn't solve the issue, and the unit was dirt cheap, maybe it's not the best. |
