Wink Trouble installing Fetishizator into Rotel rcd-971 (pcm63)

Hi,
I have just installed the Fetishizator into my Rotel rcd-971 and although it is working and sounds great, the gain is too low.The dac chips are the Burr Brown pcm 63..pins 5 and 6 are shorted. I believe the Fetishizator was optimized for the tda1541 dac?..I hope the picture of the circuit comes through so to make it easier to comment.

Thanks
chill

That circuit does not have enough gain for those Iout DAC's you mentioned. Nothing you can do about it, apart from increasing the Iout resistor value and/or increasing the fetishizator gain, but both solutions will give high distortion / cripple frequency response. If you are happy with sound, consider using “interstage” gain - like the pre-amp, between CD player and amplifier.

Boky
