Default DIR9001 + DF1704 Input in Hardware Mode

Hi to all,
I am buiding a "Frankenstein"-Dac with a 2x PCM63 Board (Taken from a Parasound DAC-1500) and a "hardwired" input with DIR9001 and DF1704.
Input will be 8 coaxial inputs with reed relais. No logic controller planned for DIR9001 and DF1704.
But: How do I handle the reset and mute inputs?
Will both chips reset and mute automatically, when I switch the inputs, (loss of SPDIF-Signal during switching) or do the need a signal from the switcher?
BTW, he switching board uses a single, buffered button for selection and 74HC4017 Logic + Transistors for driving the relais
All the best,
Salar
