Friend of mine has BADA CDP but laser head keep malfunction. We are thinking by using DVD player's coaxial output connect to BADA DAC section. Can we tap in the SPDIF signal into SAA7824 chip inside BADA CDP, and using only the DAC section? Which pin should I connect to SAA7824?
Thanks |

Sorry, you need a SPDIF reciever chip in front of the dac chip. It would be easier to repair the laser.

SAA7824 is not a receiver chip or at least function as a receiver chip? The laser could not survive more than 3 months even replace with new unit.

Sorry, the SAA7824 is a decoder chip. Google "SPDIF reciever"
What laser is used in it? |
