hello everybody,
i just got a cd-930 philips. And it does everyhting quite good. if i put in an original cd it plays nicely. the cdplayer has a broken tray wheel, so i open it up manualy 1)if i put in a recordable (tayo yuden, that plays on my old nad) then the disc spins, the cdplayer reads the TOC, i can press play, the cdplayer goes to the 1 track, and then puts out: error (and it retuns to the TOC: so you see the number of tracks and the player looks like ready to play. 2)if i press play and stop and then power on, i get the follow messages srv 505 us p136 srs sos us p136 3)i think the tracking is off. what do you think, can anyone help me finding the pot to adjust the tracking. i don't know where to find it thanks |

I guess you have to download a service manual first ;-)...then someone might jump in and help you.
PHILIPS CD930 SM Service Manual free download, schematics, eeprom, repair info for electronics

Hi,
You could try to replace cap 2107 (2u2f) with a fresh one. I had huge problems with cdr's after replacing this cap with a bigger one in an upgrade project(lampizator's fikusz1 transport) for my cd940. After changing back to the original cap the problem was solved. It seems to be critical for tracking right. When reading the specs for the SAA7310 i read it serves with an r75 as a filter in providing freq.control signal for the VCO. I dont understand this 100 % but it sounds plausible;-) |
