I would ask by NAD's development aera, because a wide range of their cd player uses Matsushita's mash DAC's

You can download Technics SL-PS900 service manual here TECHNICS SLPS900 Service Manual free download, schematics, eeprom, repair info for electronics it has an MN6476 inside, so you could see pinout, implementation, etc.

Search at Lampizator Site, there's one treated with a triode analog output...
OOPs it was a SL-PS 700, but worth to give a look: http://www.lampizator.eu/LAMPIZATOR/...0SL-PS700.html Last edited by Marmotus; 28th January 2010 at 07:03 PM. |

Thanks for that too. The 6476 is a strange chip, it has two differential outputs for each channel, and the ps900 uses all 8 output pins. Very wierd.

It has 8 MASH convertors inside, that's why. BTW, is it something wrong with it (player), or you just want to tweak it?

Ah, that's right. I was looking to try transformer output directly off the chip but it looks like it will still take some steep filters to do it. Any ideas on this? I better keep looking for the datasheet.

I really don't know the best way to deal with PWM outputs, except that I would use best caps (mica or styroflex/polystyrene) for passive/active LP filtters. Besides that, you really want to change those nasty 3-pin regulators IC11/12 for (super) shunt regulator like TL431 for analog and digital supply, eventually buffered with npn transistor and high quality, low ESR Al cap close to all supply/ground pins. Than you can play with opamps ;-)
