This approach based to a strongly reduced light scattering.
I have heard about this, but never perform own tests (risc of damage of compact disc after short time) And two additional CD sound improver I have found on the web - based on a CD degaussing: 1) Degausser "DE2" (DE 2) from "Stein Music" 2) Furutech RD-1 (RD1), RD-3 (RD3) and RD-2 (RD2) Are there already some experiences? 1 = 1, 0 = 0. How would this "sound improver" affect that?

It makes the ones more one-like, and the zeros more zero-ish.
The other stupid explanation I've heard is that it reduces the demands on the laser servo. No decent back-up on that, nor any even vaguely reliable data showing an effect on the analog output...

The edge beveler, a new spin on CD tweaking. Amazing, this stuff just keeps coming. The review starts out great too, "After all, I had already found that just about anything you did to a CD was likely to make it sound better".

That edge beveler thing costs 1000 dollars
![]() ...and he claims to have sold 1000's to happy customers ![]() I think if I wanted to test the effect (which I don't), I'd start with a piece of sandpaper and a laundry-marker. |

As for degaussing the disc? how does that work? Less static? cleaner surface? Does the charge being removed by the degaussing process interfere with the laser? All seems a little extreme for me tbh!

Introduction » Exact Audio Copy Have you tried using it to rip CDs onto harddisk ? Do you notice how often (if at all) you cheap 10-Euro CD-Rom read your CDs with error ? Want holy digital copies ? Rip and store them in solid state memories. Patrick |
