Hmm... for a budget (but still top-quality) DAC, I'd choose the CS4396 or CS43122. These chips are very well liked as some of the best audiophile DACs, and will be significantly cheaper to build with than the PCM1702/1704 chips. There is only a very small difference in performance between the '96 and the '122, and they're directly pin compatible. If budget is not really an issue then the 1702 or 1704 is probably the way to go. The AD DACs are probably ok, though i have very limited experience with them, so i tend to lean towards the Crystal Semi parts, which I feel are a more mature product in terms of the underlying technology. Your mileage may vary...
