Question Audio Alchemy Ribbion Replacement

About 5 weeks ago I bought a non working audio alchemy Digital Drive System 3 CD player. The problem was it would not read any disk that was inserted. The seller told me that it is a common thing for the ribbon inside to go. So he gave me a few links to order the part. The part number he gave me was Sony 153747211 FILM JUMPER WITH TERMINAL. First is that what I need? Also what will I have to do to replace the ribbon? If there is solder involved I will be fine but just want to be ready. Thanks in advanced.

The AA DDS-III is basically just a cheap Sony CDP-290/291 inside. The ribbon cables don't go bad unless someone gets in there & damages them. If it's failing to read discs, but otherwise gives good display, etc., it's almost 100% certain to be a bad Sony KSS-240A laser, which is neither expensive nor hard to find, and fairly easy to replace, given any mechanical talent at all.

Well, dalbani.com is showing stock of KSS240A at $15 each, and there are various sellers on ebay in the same or slightly higher ballpark.
