Pure CD Player and DVD Transport Mechanism inside - what about this ??

There are still pure CD player on the marked - but without CD transport mechanism in most cases (except some few devices with VAU1254/CDproII inside).
Often I found a DSL710/DSL710A (DVD mechanism) from DVS inside.

How works such cd players before S/P-DIF ?

From there it depends, whether it is really a pure CD player or not (what kind of chipset for PCM decoding, error coccection and servo processing).

Who knows more about this?

Are there any guys, that have schematic/datasheet about follow mechanism?
