Removing the Muting Transistors of Sony CDP-690
 
Hi everybody.I need help of removing the mut.trans. where are they?how they look?and after removing what to do?Just switch on the CD player or need to connect the cutted wire ?

They will be like this on the output of the final opamp and probably surface mounted too... this is from a Mini Disc recorder... but the set up will be similar.
Sometimes (occasionally) there are two transistors with a resistor inbetween to give a higher level of muting...
Just remove them... personally I don't believe it will make an audible difference... although many disagree :) You might "think" it does but "has" it. Probably much better to fit higher quality opamps (depending on whats fitted)

Thank you!You are right I removed them but there was no difference.This is my trying player so I sacrificed it :)

I wouldn't do that... you risk ruining your player. The disadvantage may be significant...the advantage may not be.
