Default Can you spot that CD transport (laser skipping problem)

Hi all
I need help identifying this CD transport. It is part of Brendensen CDP-1.
I'm not sure whether this is a CD-Rom or some sort of Philips CDM-12 .
Any help help spotting this will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Yair

What does it say on the pickup. It's definitely not a CDM 12 or any variation of
Might be a DVD based mech (going off what looks a rather wide ribbon connector)

The turntable looks more like for CD... DVD drives have rubber base to grip disk for fast acceleration/deceleration.

Hi
I need to take the whole thing apart to see underneath.
I'm not so sure it's a laser problem, I did play a bit with the spindle and the skipping stopped for a while...
Cheers,
Yair

Most skipping problems are caused by the sled not moving freely.
Motors, spindle and sled can play up. It can be worth (after disconnecting them) applying a 9 volt battery to burn any rubbish of the commutator. You would have to remove the gears to do that or the teeth will be damaged.
