Wait, you said the sound is bright? Meaning that of the CD player? Didn't you use the LME49720HA there? Where did you put the LM4562? Sorry, didn't have the patience to read all posts.

Anyway the LME49720HA can be bright per se..

49720 in the cdp, 4562 in the amp. Didn't sound bright until cap swaps.

There might be other feedback caps on the preamp section but the ones to play with are the 2 47uF/25v ZA'a that we identified earlier. 100uF Silmics in this position could be just the ticket

I don't think it's a good pairing sonically. I would replace the LM4562 with something else... Then you can consider replacing all the caps again. I would try with a Browndog with 2x OPA132UA on it. It really can be a cure (for brightness as well as musicality).

Will do. Looked at them Tantalums...... bit deer! Where do you suggest silmics from??

Anyway my integrated amp has a NJM4570 and I don't dare to replace it, for fear of losing the fine tonal character it has.
