By service of older high quality cd players the so called "cross reference lists" are often very helpful.

Concerning optical pick up's (laser unit) and digital to analog converter IC's there are a wide range of weblinks. Here are some examples:
http://www.vasiltech.nm.ru/files/cd-players/CD-Player-DAC-Transport.htm#B
http://www.dcaudio.kgb.pl/dac.htm
http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70064
http://www.marantzphilips.nl/index.asp?strPage=Daclist

But regarding the other cd player LSI devices (e. g. PCM decoder, servo processor, operating processor, display and driver) I don't find comparable weblinks. Therefore I have create by my own website http://www.tiefbassuebertragung.de/49628.html
the topic "CDP-Service"

In the moment you find two categories here:
A) optical pick up - CD player brand and model (the reverse of that which most frequently found on the web)
B) CD player model - used LSI-ICs and some other special devices (not anywhere on the web, as I know)

From all the cd players that I had in recent years to repair, I listed here.
Unfortunately my website is only in German, therefore you can use the language tool by google for translate the complete URL. The quality of the translation is not very good, but enough - go to
http://translate.google.de/translat...gung.de/49628.html&sl=de&tl=en&hl=de&ie=UTF-8

If all members, that make service by their cd players, also listet in this forum information about the used LSI IC types in their model, in the future it would be easier in many cases, to find "hard-to find" parts as LSI-ICs and display devices of old high-quality cd player models, because they will now know some cheap models, where the same parts are inside. After buy the used model of the appropriate cd player, it can been perform the replacing and complete service by the concerning high quality cd player model
