I want a dig out (coax) upgrade to the Philips cd player CD-100 and CD-104 so as Revox B-225

Actually I want to get a I2S format. The splitting for left and right channel was already perform outsite of digital to analog converter device by the first generation cd player, i. e., there are definitly two dac devices in use.

Who knows a circuit for transforming the "old bus" (SAA-7000) signals
"STR" (Strobe) "DOL" (Data Out Left) and "DOR" (Data Out Right) to the I2S signals
"WCLK" (Word Clock resp. L/R-Clock), BCK (BCLK Bit Clock) and Data ?

If I have this, I can create a one wire SPDIF bus (Sony Philips Data Interface) respective DOBM (digital out bi phase mark) about the PCF3523P

Datasheets for SAA7000, SAA7010, SAA7020 and SAA7030 are to download about

In this case I have found also follow informations:

but unfortunately I haven't success to find weblinks about a glue logic schematic for diy.

Thank you for your advices

Hallo tiefbassuebertr ,

Hello.

Sorry for my bad english.

Recently I bought à Marantz CD 54, with CDM1, I would make a drive with a CDM1.

A friend told me you can't do, because 14 bits for TDA1540. **** !

So i was looking for manuals of CD players with CDM1 and TDA1541 ( too much money to buy one)

CD-Player-DAC-Transport List

- Marantz CD 94 i have the manual and schematics.

- Wadia WT 3200 WadiaWT3200

- Mac Intosh MCD 7000.

Too much discrete components on the CD94 around the SAA7010 vs the Wadia , why ?

I bought a SAA7210 and a SAA7220 ( the last couple available in this webshop ).

Then I compared the various input and output signals between SAA7010 and SAA7210.

I couldn't find SAA70000 and SAA7010 datasheets.

The first différence is : SAA7010 extract P bits

saa7010_p_chanel.jpg

and SAA7210 extract Q bits ; it works with Q-Channel ( more informations about tracks ).

Compact disk digital audio

It's not the same serial protocol with the processor.

subcoding_microprocessor.jpg

So I can't use the processor and the display panel of CD54 with SAA7210

Another difference is the MOTOR SPPEED CONTROL

SAA7010 gives a 50 % duty cycle

saa7020_mces.png

SAA7210 gives a 20 % to 80 % duty cycle with a large start pulse.

Another diff is the CRI signal from the processor to SAA7210:

When you skip tracks CRI disable the reset of master counter when it detects a new SYNC which comes in a bad time window, to avoid disturbing the speed control of the spindle motor.

I don't want to buy a CD 94 for extracting his processor to build a CDM1 drive with the CD 54 . If I had one I would use the CD 94 as a drive.

You can build a drive with CD PRO2 LF, but it's not interesting , you just have to connect boards and it works ! A monkey could do this job !

Then you have to tweak it with a super clock ( TCXO ) with ulta low noise power supplies, a super S/PDIF coaxial output and separate power supplies for every parts .

So I have to use a new µprocessor and and to write its software from scratch :D, step by step.. I've some samples of CD players logigrams, from power on.. open:close, focus, disc detect, play, and so on..

I've got a Radiola CD 1006 for 10 € : I would use it for investigations with my Tektro ( especially for Qbits, skip tracks, etc.. ). It has a poor TDA1541 with SAA7220, but no SAA7010 ( because decoder is on the CDM2 board ) **** !

I 'll use a Texas Instruments Piccolo µprocessor . It's luxury : 32 bits realtime and floating point 50 MHz DSP, but I know it, I'have the development kit Contol Suite and you can get it on a mini board 100 pin DIM for 49 $, and i'll have monitoring on my PC with isolated RS232...

C2000 32 bit 28x Piccolo? Series Tools & Software from Texas Instruments

C2000™ 32-bit Real-time MCUs - 28x Piccolo™ Series - TMS320F28027 - TI.com

I'll have to tweak a bidirectional I/O for QRA signal into separate I and O in the Picolo..

So I 'll design

- a new board with SAA7210 SAA7220, SRAM super clock and SPDIF,

- a new board for motor drivers, focus coil

- a LCD touch screen panel ( with service and monitoring modes ).

And a separate box for power supplies.

I never realized this approach but obviously other guys - go to:
Ich habe das Projekt nie realisiert, aber offenbar andere wie hier zu sehen:
