Most of you familiar with the CDM1MKII transport know about the high failure capacitor (Non POL 33uf @16V) on the PCB underneath the transport. I've had one go out twice. What would be the most reliable replacement cap for this circuit. I think polypropolene would be too big & would interfere with the swingarm mechanism unless there is a minurature type I don't know about. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Might be worth trying two 68mfds back to back. Good quality bipolars are a bit rare these days.

If I do go with lytics in series which type would be the best to buy. I'd thought the 105deg might hold up better but most of these tend to be low esr which I'm not sure would be that great for an older circuit like this.

Low ESR is perfect ?
I'm guessing it's used as a "filter" or time constant in a servo circuit perhaps. Whatever 105 degree low ESR is fine. |
