Hi all i have a marrantz cd67 and wanted to know if i can use any dac with it.I have seen some ready built circuit boards on ebay but apart from them i cant seem to find any more,Any help would be great

Hmm, I just was googling up your marrantz 67 CD player, and it looks like it might have an optical output.
If it does you'll need a optical input on your DAC (and an optical cable between them.) |

Yes does have optical input,do you know who sells the ready built boards,Or what other upgrades give you better sound without spending loads.realy i am after more detail

There are so many Dac options, it depends what your budget is.

Yes i have had a look on ebay and found 2 i was after one that was a just a circuit board and no case as thay are cheaper,Just had a look at the link you posted but thay are out of my budget

That is very cheap for what you get there. It may sound a little better but there are a lot of cheap parts on the pcb that ultimatly hold back the sound (just like in the 67).
Have you not thought about modding your 67? Brent |

Hi brent i would love to do some mods on my 67 but not sure were to start or what components i kneed,What i want is more detail which component change would give me the bigest upgrade for the price i cant realy afford a lot of money so it would have to be done in bits.What differance would changeing the oppamps give me

Over the original opamps the detail change would be pretty big. We always use LM4562 (LME49720) with some rubycon za caps on the power rails.
Simple upgrade and it will impress you. Once thats all in you can bypass the HDAM + muting section so the audio runs direct from opamps to the sockets. This allows you to hear the opamps properly. As you go along there are lots of little tweaks you can do Brent |
