I 've picked up my bargain Marantz CD50 to give this 1541 thing a try - although the player itself is in exrtremely good nick - it didn't come with transport locks for the old CDM4.
It seems to have survived the journey home on the floor of the car and is playing OK at the moment but I would like to get hold of a pair of locks for it's next and subsequent journeys!
From memory, my old philips players from the 80's had the same sort of locks - I think they were red plastic bayonet fitting things.
So .................... does anyone know a source of these? Anyone have a spare set knocking about? (long shot!)
thanks for any help guys

... even with the transport "locked" the swing arm is free to move about and hit the end stops.

really? - oh well in that case!!
I just always assumed that the swing arm would be the part that was 'locked' !!! - if the arm isn't - then what is? - the whole suspended mech perhaps?
