I have a choice between a California Audio labs CL-15 and a Musical Fidelity X-ray V3 which includes X-10V3 tube buffer and X-PSU power supply. Players of this caliber do not often appear on the second-hand market where I come from and now suddenly there is a decision to be made. I like the look of the CAL unit which sports a digital volume control and unusually, a digital input, however, its the sound that matters. Both machines have glowing reviews, but am hoping to hear from someone who has directly compared the two or has heard either.
