Does anyone have any feedback on the actual performance/quality of these DAC kits?

On the surface it looks like a good deal, I imagine there would be quite a bit of room for tweaking.
Any ideas?

I've just bought a similar board without the USB interface. Like yourself, I figured it would make a good "starting point" and, having put it in a case and made it "living room friendly" I was pleasantly surprised by the way it sounds.
There is certainly room for improvement. Some unnecessary decoupling caps in the signal path and a second Opamp stage that doesn't appear to achieve a great deal but if you plan to mod it I don't think you'll be disappointed.
The only downsides I have noticed are that the board has a black solder resist layer that makes it difficult to follow the tracks and pads on the ground plane are not very well thermally isolated from the ground plane so it takes a lot of heat and patience to desolder anything that goes to ground.
I don't suppose anyone has a schematic for these boards?
