I am getting into the DIY aspect of this hobby and figured I would start with modding one of my CD players.
I have a Rotel RCD-855 that seems to be a good candidate for my first player. (also have a Denon DCD-1500 and a Philips 963sa) I have searched and havent found a complete how to for beginners so I was wondering if I could get some help as to what I can do. To start I have ordered LM4562 opamps. I am going to install sockets and the new opamps. Next I was going to swap out the decoupling caps off of the DAC (TDA1541A) I have some ERO metalized caps that I can put in there. Short of that I am not sure what all else can be done. I was looking at possible clock upgrades but I am completly lost when it comes to how things are setup. Any help would be appreciated. Also anybody have the repair manual for this player? |
