Question RCA OUT & IEC from QUAD 99CD PLAYER ?

I bought QUAD 99CD (quad link connector version) from my friend but it only use for QUAD 99 PRE with QUAD LINK cable.

There's no other RCA or IEC connector from behind chassis !

Could anyone help me to work it as stand alone CD PLAYER ?

Thanks
Rubydac

You're going to have to build a power supply and a lot of other stuff to get this to work - I don't have the details but this cd player borrows power amongst other things (remote signaling, etc?) from the 99 series pre-amplifier it is designed to be used with.

First step is to get the service manuals, and then having those, to decide whether this is really worth the trouble. You might want to consider either getting the matching pre-amplifier or just selling it. You could probably get something comparable for the expense and effort required to use it stand-alone.

This is obviously the earlier version, the newer version is mains powered. Perhaps you should try to get one of those - apparently the mechanism in the newer player offers the prospect of better performance as well.

Question Request !

Does anyone help me for advance modification of QUAD 99CD (only quadlink connector) to QUAD 99CD-S (rca connector) ?

I think I have to drill out pcb for analog output and supply unit work.

Thanks

The Quadlink CD might even have a PSU built in. The FM99 has a PSU although it runs from the preamp...
