Default Vanguard Cdm12 Cd Transport

Hi, (sorry for my english)

www.vocativeaudio.com

I'm very interested to purchase this beautiful little transport.
They claim " CDM12 laser head " and they claim also this is a NEW product.
How is it possible ( I believe philips CDM12 was discontinued) ?
Maybe is it a chinese clone ? If it is, do you think it can be
anyway a good product/ work ok as the original ?
There are so many good chinese DACs ( Lite and others) but so a fews
transports ..........
I will appreciate your comments
Thanks,

Paolo

The price for the Vanguard CD12M is 448 USD.
They have said the laser head are still in production right now
and it is a true Philips part. The rest is produced by themselves.
Frankly I was hoping a bit less money

cheers,
Paolo

Hi Zoran,

I am missing your point : the kit cost 48 USD less ? This seems reasonble to me , saving a lot of time
Issues are the shipping costs + tax for a product that have not
CE compatible !
Am I sure this stuff work ok for next 10 years ?
Am I sure the laser switched off when I open the "door"?
I am confused/skeptical

Thanks,

Paolo

Default Vanguard CDM12 Transport

Hi, Mind if I but in, the price seems very high. Why don't you use the Philips Pro2 system. This mechnism last time I saw was aound $260.

Or and I am serious, listen to a Sony Ps1 early model.

hi,

or a CDROM drive maybe
Very fun, my brother has said me the same thing.
But I am "retro" and I like those stupid high-end stuff
Moreover I have read bad comments in other thread about Philips
CDM series. Anyway for sure cdpro2 is better. But the diyhifi kit
is LESS laser pick-up . I need a completed/assembled player.
Do it exsist ?

Paolo
