Just was wondering, in a pinch if it was possible to use some cable other than a specially designed spdif cable for this purpose. Any 75 ohm rca type cable should work right? I've heard component video cables typically are 75 ohm, any others that might work?

I use pro audio word clock cables with real 75 ohm bnc connectors. Most anything with a 75 ohm characteristic impedance and sufficient bandwidth should work fine. As to how they sound I'll let you figure that out..
