Default HDD players with built in PCM1794 DAC

just found this site,

http://hifidiy.net/zxbd/200808/t20080802_1673.htm

now they are selling this kit for about $200 including mainboard, case, and R Core transformer. and you can add $40 more for 1798/4 DAC kit

just want to know what do you guys think about it?
and, is it better than PC based + USB DAC player?

i think i might be ordering those

oh and use google translate to read all the painting

For $200 it looks like a bargain.

This looks quite amazing. Especially compared to all the idiotic kits diyers seem to adore. Wrong geographic location and wrong language though.

Ok, since I know the host of the site so probably I can relay you guys request to him?

Anyway, I'd say it's a fairly matured product as of now. It can handle APE, Flac, 24bit/192KHz wave files as well as spit out 24bit/192KHz SPDIF data stream.

You do have to provide your own hard drive though.

Another Chinese website is also bringing out a similar product. This one is based on the ADI Blackfin processor running at 600MHz. It hence has the extra horsepower to do upsampling in software! A bit more higher end yet the release date is still unknown. The price is about the same. Both machines can do firmware/software upgrade through internet:

Can it spit out 192/24 I2S? And do you have any info about how the clock is implemented?
