Interesting is that was published in 2000 when TL074 was the fastest "kid on the block" - 13 V/uS but with noise at 15nV/sqrt Hz and distortion at 0.01% (-80dB) and 3MHz gain bandwidth.

Today we have devices with SR at 20-55 V/uS, noise at 0.9-1.1nV/sqrt Hz and distortion at -114...-120dB and 55-100MHz gain BW. And we don't use R-2R DAC's anymore.

Limiting the rise time at an R-2R DAC output is simple done with just one capacitor across OpAmp feedback.
