Modded a few Tda1541 based players to nonoversampling and I love the sound.
Now I would like to try with an old Sony cdp M49 with Burr Brown PCM56 dacs. It has CXD25009 digital signal processor, CXD2551P digital filter, MC74HCU04N inverter + 2 PCM56. I wonder if I simply could bypass the filter but it seems a little more complicated...

Looks like it would take a fair amount of "glue" logic and some small FIFO chips. Don't know how deep you want to go in that direction.
