Erm 50 - 50 really. The 210 is cheap enough ( I have replaced many of these, well into 3 figures ). Spindle motors can give trouble (The one the disc sits on), so try this. Unsolder both wires to motor -- quickly don't overheat the terminals -- and run the motor with a PP3 9volt battery for 5 secs or so each way. This helps clean the commutator. Worth trying. Make sure the pickup is free to move and the gears are clean. Then fit a new pickup. Remember they come with a blob of solder shorting the laser to protect it so this needs removing once fitted. It should work out of the box -- no adjustments -- but obviously it's better if you have a scope so you can see whats going on.
