Hi Puffin,

Upsampling 44.1K to 96K is not easy, you need an Asynchronous Sample Rate Converter (ASRC). Is there a reason to upsample to 96KHz? Eric |

Eric. Thanks for your reply. I was looking to find out if others thought that up-sampling was beneficial to sound quailty.

Upsampling from 44.1 to 88.2 with an intelligent curve prediction software might be beneficial. (and I'd be surprised to see a DAC that runs at 88.2)
Going for uneven multiples would probably be a step backward.

You need a good program such as audition and set up the parameters correctly. 44.1 to 176.4 and 48 to 192 sound even better than 88.2 or 96k. Sound Forge is another program. Don't use inferior stuff attached to 'audio suites' |
