Onkyo DX3500 cd player information

Hi,

I may have a chance to acquire an used Onkyo DX3500 player. I would be grateful if you could let me know more about it, like the sound quality, the laser assembly and the DAC circuit. Was it a mid- or high-end in the Onkyo line up?

I would also like to know if there is any reliability issue as in other Onkyo cd player. A service manual would be great.

Russel, if I recall correctly, the laser unit is unobtainable.
In that perspective, buying it would be a risk.

Hi Hugo,

thanks for your reply! I remember reading somewhere on the internet that some Onkyo CD players can have their digital filter adjusted on the control panel. Is the DX3500 one of these?

BTW, anyone got a service manual of the DX3500?

well I know one thing. since it is almost 24 years of age. be careful where you buy it. most problems with this cd player is the arm that goes on top of the cd will give out sooner than the cd lens itself.

but a easy fix non the less.....
