For say a TDA1543 x16 parallel DAC, how important is matching? As you use more number, I would assume the pluses and minuses will sort of hopefully even out..
I ask b/c I can't find any source that sells matched TDA1543 chips. If you know a source for matched TDA1543 chips, do let me know. Heck, let me know if you know a good source of unmatched chips in U.S. |

They don't need matching.

I tried it once, but could not find any chips (tried 300) which were clearly better than the rest. That is when my idea of stacking chips was born by the way
ergo, save your time and just stack more chips received this week this response from a DIY who went from 12 to 24 chips: ...two boards (24 chips) it's a must have for all, a big improvement. Shame i don't have space for a third one... take care doede

A good source for TDA1543 ICs is Futurlec, with a price of only US$1.95 for small quantities. I have used these guys before, they are fairly slow, and their range is fairly limited, but they sure are cheap.
As people have said, you don't really match these ICs, the paralleling is to average out the differences in each chip. |

Now if I could just find some cheap heatsinks for the TDA1543's, ones to go on top surface of each chip or maybe two across.. |
