I'm considering a d-clock for my Teac, and while it probably will be an improvement, I'm worried that it might be a bit over the top.
The clock is expensive, and though the drive mech. is good I understand that the servo board is of mediocre quality. Does anyone have a tip or two on how to mod the servo board? If I am unable to mod, then should I go for a cheaper clock? Kenneth. |

I don't know about the servo issue, but applying a new clock probably will give you a "new" player. Personally I replaced the original clock of my VRDS-8, with the Burson-clock. The space is very limited in the VRDS-8 chassis, so the Burson-clock is perfect as it has a built in power-supply. Just feed it with a current between 10- and 30 volts, and there you go.

Thanks Havard.
I haven't heard of that clock before, looks interesting. Maybe it will even fit into my dvd-player... I understand the Tent-clock is also very popular. I'm inclined towards the Dexa because it doesn't need an extra psu to avoid interference from the ground signal, as I understand it. The VRDS 10 has plenty of room, especially after I removed the original dac, and installed the Monica 3 (diyparadise). With no servo-tips out there, I guess I'll change some regulators if I find a match with better specs. The player needs a new clock to shine, so I need to choose one. Difficult, indeed, but very exiting. |
