I asked this over on the diyparadise forum but since traffic is low there and someone knowing this stuff might not be a member there, I figured I ask here. Some questions about wiring a Monica-3 USB DAC.....

Black wire is ground.
Red wire is plus, 12-18 VDC.

That sound right?

It looks like the traces for the black wire also connect to the two center holes of the four holes for the output. So they are all at ground?

Can I use metal screws to mount the board via the four holes in the corners without any problems or should they be insulated? I figure I do have to space it a bit above so the back of the board doesn't touch the case.

I'm going to put this in a little metal case. Can the black wire be grounded to the case along with the outer part of the two RCA connectors I wire to the two center holes on the output?

On the voltage regulator. If I'm running 12VDC, do I need to heat sink it?

If it's heat sinked. should the sink be insulated from the chip? from the case?
