Peter,

Is there a way to get balanced output from your NOS Dac? I have been thinking of building one of those, but my system is balanced all the way through, so I am hoping to keep it that way.

Yes, it is possible and I've built one like that. But I don't have the boards for such version as I never found it appealing enough. Basically, you need to add circuit that reverses polarity of data with another DAC section:

reverse polarity of data.......
Would a 74HC04 inverter inline with the data line be enough?

Thanks!

Because we have a long weekend, I decided to take a Studer D730 at home to do comparisons with my Shigaclone.

The circuit I was using was based on that schematic:

Yes Franz, Broskie Cathode follower, something like Aikido's second stage, I remember your tread about it, so I wonder you are finally chose opamp output.

I ask of i2s, because I try to build DAC before and spdif receiver simply not work:
Help with TDA1543 DAC !
maybe with 3 pins I had more luck

I am looking at "Super Pro" too.

Peter, where can I see your DAC's kits with prices ? In your website I see only chipamps.

Zigis.

I did not read the entire thread about your DAC. But I could offer you a CS8412, when you want. Just drop me a mail and I desolder one of this for you (this was a board from a CC100 CD changer module, now waiting in my hobbybox):
