Sean,

We are still working on the remote and CD puck.
AES/EBU, S/PDIF, Toslink and AT&T ST glass is an option to consider, but first we need to have all pieces of this project in place.
As you can see, sourcing of components is a pain. Making custom components is another pain.
Im sure that getting a decent ST glass, at a normal price, will be another challenge.
Regards,
Tibi

I have not tried any further combinations because I assumed 75Ohm should be optimal... But of course, I will be the first to admit that in the audio world theory and practise are often two different stories.
Datasheet states 12mA output current for DOUT, so loading it with 75 ohm is very bad practice. Minimum load impedance is 390 ohm or more.

What would you suggest then, GSI? A Pi-pad with 390 Ohm input impedance and 75 Ohm output impedance?

My 75 Ohm In - 75 Ohm Out Pi-pad certainly sounds better than the 390 Ohm L-pad - however bad practise it may be

It is like this : 2 resistor of 75 ohm in series so the output of IC see 150ohm , only the DAC see 75 ohm on coax .
Look at schematics , Pi attenuator means simple a divisor for output signal.

Tibi,

I don't mean to rock the boat but could I possibly drop those 3 CD SFP 10-16 pin mechanisms before I pay my invoice ?

Danny,

Just checked your invoice, You have been invoiced only for 3 PCB boards and 3 ICs set.
This is what you have ordered, this is what Im invoicing you.
If you want to build shiga, you will need original transistors and LCD display as well.

Regards,
Tibi
