You mean ball bearing clamp? I was actually thinking about getting something like that: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Super-Slim-E...QQcmdZViewItem

But when I tried screw in clamp on Flatfish I understood its real advantage, and the balls won't do it (to make the warped discs flat).

I have the drawings made for acrylic disc table and clamp. Anyone with access to machine shop?

Tragedy strikes again. The Amazon seller that was selling the RC-EZ31 shipped me a RC-EZ35 instead.

Peter,

I am thinking of this one:
http://cgi.ebay.de/CD-Aufnahme-Spind...742.m153.l1262
You may find this item @ your local (yellow pages/gooogle) playstation-store....without ibuy-surplus-price-tag....

This is not the only place....these are much more expensive examples:

Hi Tim,
Any possibility that you would do a small run of these? I'm sure several people would be interested in them. (Hopefully me included once I get the replacement boom box.)

That is a real bummer.. And I obviously know how that feels. I'll let you know how the replacement turns out. I still do not know for sure that this model has the same mechanism, a close study of the features, and my wishful thinking not withstanding.

I'm starting to wonder if we should be thinking about rolling our own controller and buying a bunch of these mechanisms. I am not sure whether the chips are still available or not, but it's a pretty simple solution if that were to be the case

Hi Kevin,

i will try and make as many as i can but i can't make any promises until i get one under my belt. since i do everything by hand it could take a couple of hours for each clamp. maybe less, maybe more i just don't know until i prototype one.

i am going to look into getting an appropriately sized reamer now.

I see that everyone is looking for a VERY SPECIFIC boombox, the EZ-31.

Why not just go for any other cheap boombox??

Is there really anything special about the PCB in the EZ-31 compared wioth lets say the EZ35?

It comes from a mass produced boom box, so is there any chance that just about ANY boombox PCB (say Sony, or Aiwa or Panasonic, etc) will sound similar, assuming a few mods were done as per this thread?
