I recently scrapped a set of PC speakers with an internal DAC and amplifier. It uses a CS8415 receiver and CS4334 DAC. My plan is to isolate the DAC area of the board and run the analog lines to a better opamp and filter stage. The input is via an RCA jack but I would like to convert it to optical to use with my soundcard. Is this as simple as getting an SPDIF receiver and wiring it to the CS8415? My search of suppliers for a SPDIF jack turned up none. Any ideas where to get one?
