Clock distribution in CD player

I installed a TENT XO clock by connecting its output to the clk input of DF1704 digital filter. The CD decoder is clocked directly from the filter clock output (clk-out)

In some players, however, the MCK is buffered with 2 fast gates (74AC00) so 2 identical clocks are independently supplied both to the filter and decoder from the gates output, and DF1704 CLKOUT is not used at all.

I' ve just built such 74AC00 buffer and I thing the sound is slightly better probably due to jitter reduction (or maybe increase) I do not have any professional audio analyzers so I cannot tell if it's a real change or psychoacustic illusion.

What do you think? Which clock distribution is more correct when using df1704 ?
