SAA7000 chipset

I'm getting a Marantz CD-73 going and I'm finding that the SAA7000 is not passing data or latch signals onto the 7030. Its clock generator is working, and I also see a proper latch signal on the 7030.

Does anyone have datasheets on this chipset?

Thank you for the link.

I've looked at the data and determined that the SAA7020 in this Marantz is the last IC in the lineup which is passing data.

The error output is staying low while the data output shows data timed with the data latch output and also in time with the frame strobe.

All of this appears at the correct pins on the inputs of the SAA7000 but nothing is appearing on its outputs. The SAA7030 is sitting around clocking its offset into the DACs and all else looks normal.

Is anyone familiar with this happening? I'm guessing the sAA7000 is not working properly?

Maybe a dumb question: is the crystal oscillator working on the SAA7000?

Yes, the crystal oscillator is operating.

I found another machine with the same chipset and swapped the 7000. Now I see valid data at the inputs to the DACs, but there's no signal on the analog outputs. It looks like the DACs aren't working.

I'll swap in different DACs tonight and see what happens.
