"Coaxial" audio output on DVD player - what is data format?

I understand this RCA output connector goes off to an external D/A converter. Could somebody give me a link showing the nitty-gritty of the data flowing out of this line?

Edit - Is it SPDIF or TOSLINK or something like that?

it's spdif (isn't toslink only used with optical?)
with 0.5V signal if I'm right

As mentioned, the data format is s/pdif (Sony-Phillips Digital InterFace). TOSLink is just the name of the physical connector for the optical version of the s/pdif interface.
